چکیده

The notion of bisimulation as proposed by Larsen and Skou for discrete probabilistic transition systems is shown to coincide with a coalgebraic definition in the sense of Aczel and Mendler in terms of a set functor, which associates to a set its collection of simple probability distributions. This coalgebraic formulation makes it possible to generalize the concepts of discrete probabilistic transition system and probabilistic bisimulation to a continuous setting involving Borel probability measures. A functor M1 is introduced that yields for a metric space its collection of Borel probability measures. Under reasonable conditions, this functor exactly captures generalized probabilistic bisimilarity. Application of the final coalgebra paradigm to a functor based on M1 then yields an internally fully abstract semantical domain with respect to probabilistic bisimulation, which is therefore well-suited for the interpretation of probabilistic specification and stochastic programming concepts. 1991 Mathematics Subject Classification: 68Q10, 68Q55 1991 Computing Reviews Classification System: D.3, F.1, F.3

Coalgebraic Weak Bisimulation from Recursive Equations over Monads

Strong bisimulation for labelled transition systems is one ofthe most fundamental equivalences in process algebra, and has beengeneralised to numerous classes of systems that exhibit richer transi-tion behaviour. Nearly all of the ensuing notions are instances of themore general notion of coalgebraic bisimulation. Weak bisimulation, how-ever, has so far been much less amenab...

A Companion to Coalgebraic Weak Bisimulation for Action-Type Systems∗

We propose a coalgebraic definition of weak bisimulation for classes of coalgebras obtained from bifunctors in the category Set. Weak bisimilarity for a system is obtained as strong bisimilarity of a transformed system. The particular transformation consists of two steps: First, the behavior on actions is lifted to behavior on finite words. Second, the behavior on finite words is taken modulo t...

Simplified Coalgebraic Trace Equivalence

The analysis of concurrent and reactive systems is based to a large degree on various notions of process equivalence, ranging, on the so-called lineartime/branching-time spectrum, from fine-grained equivalences such as strong bisimilarity to coarse-grained ones such as trace equivalence. The theory of concurrent systems at large has benefited from developments in coalgebra, which has enabled un...

Weak Bisimulation for Action-Type Coalgebras

Weak bisimilarity for a system is obtained as strong bisimilarity of a transformed system. The transformation consists of two steps: First, the behaviour on actions is expanded to behaviour on finite words. Second, the behaviour on finite words is taken modulo the hiding of invisi...
